This policy explains what personal data the TalkToMyATC app and the talktomyatc.fantastik.info website collect, why we process it and how we protect it. TalkToMyATC is a mobile app that teaches pilots radiotelephony (RTF) phraseology.

Data we collect

Account details: name, username, email address and password. Your password is never stored in plain text; it is kept in an irreversibly hashed form.
Progress data: XP, streak, lesson status, crowns and study statistics. This is stored for cloud backup tied to your account; the core of the app also works offline on your device.
AI feature (if you use it): when you use the AI ATC practice or evaluation features, the radio text you enter is sent through our server to an AI service provider (Anthropic) for evaluation.
Technical logs: basic server logs (such as IP address and request time) may be kept briefly for security and abuse prevention.

How we use the data

To create your account and let you sign in.
To back up and restore your progress across devices.
To provide AI evaluation when you request it.
To keep the service secure and prevent abuse and fraud.
To improve the app (using aggregated, non-identifying usage information).

Third parties and transfers

We do not sell your data. We do not use ad networks or third-party trackers. To run the service we only work with these providers:

Anthropic — for AI evaluation (only the text you send when using that feature).
Hosting and infrastructure — server hosting (Europe, Hetzner) and DNS/CDN (Cloudflare).

Retention

We keep your account and progress data while your account is active. When you delete your account or ask us to delete your data, we will do so within a reasonable time, subject to any legal retention obligations.

Security

All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS, passwords are stored hashed, and database access follows the principle of least privilege. No method is 100% secure, but we take reasonable, up-to-date measures to protect your data.

Children

TalkToMyATC is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Your rights

You can access, correct, delete and object to the processing of your personal data. If you are in Türkiye, see the KVKK Notice for the details of your rights under Turkish data protection law.

Cookies

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We only use the strictly necessary cookies the service needs to function.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. For significant changes we will refresh the "last updated" date on this page.
